Experience a full starry sky stretching through 360 degrees with PlayStation VR

Sega Toys' Homestar home planetarium series has sold more than one million units worldwide.

This special version of its VR software, Homestar VR Special Edition, comes to PlayStation 4 as a physical edition.

Use PlayStation VR to enjoy a sky full of stars and a beautiful Milky Way extending around you through 360 degrees.

A new kind of planetarium: Homestar VR

Homestar VR for PlayStation VR is planetarium software developed exclusively for VR with the full cooperation of Sega Toys, supervised by Takayuki Ohira, one of Japan's foremost planetarium creators.

Based on NASA astronomical data, it faithfully recreates the stars' positions, distances and even their colors.

You can experience beautiful auroras, too

The fantastically beautiful Milky Way stretching before your eyes is a spectacle unique to PlayStation VR.

In the Full Starry Sky Selection mode, auroras may appear. Around 2.5 million stars, from first to eleventh magnitude, are delicately projected.

Connect a storage device containing music to the USB port to enjoy astronomical observations while listening to your favorite music.

Three modes offer different ways to enjoy the heavens

World Starry Sky Time Travel, VR Astronomical Planetarium and Full Starry Sky Selection.

Narration from popular voice actors, including Jun Fukuyama and Sayaka Ohara

The planetarium mode features narration by Jun Fukuyama, known for Lelouch in Code Geass and the protagonist of Persona 5; Sayaka Ohara, known for Yuko Ichihara in xxxHOLiC and station announcements on private railways in the Kanto region; and Donna Burke, known for English onboard announcements on the Shinkansen.

Their soothing voices carefully explain seasonal constellations and mythology. You can also enjoy stories about constellations connected to the tale Night on the Galactic Railroad.

Time Travel mode takes astronomical observation across time and space

Choose any location on Earth and your preferred date and time to observe the heavens—an experience made possible by VR.

You can, for example, recreate the sky on the day you were born or on an important anniversary.

With controls like turning a globe, view the past, present and future skies from locations around the world, crossing time and space in a dreamlike journey.

Recreating spectacular starry-sky destinations you should visit at least once

Visit extraordinary places in VR even when you cannot travel there: Lake Tekapo in New Zealand, Mauna Kea in Hawaii, Uyuni in Bolivia and Jasper National Park in Canada, all renowned for their astonishingly beautiful night skies.

New locations include Achi Village in Nagano Prefecture, whose sky is called Japan's finest; Natural Bridges National Monument in Utah; and the Namib Desert in Africa, each offering miraculously beautiful stargazing.
