The world

One day, a jet-black calamity appeared, as though ink were seeping out of the earth and sky, and spread across the world's six great continents.

The disaster known as the Ink of Ruin painted the world pitch black. Yet Ido, the city of the lingering moon, continued to resist the ink's encroachment.

Ido belongs to Tokinokuni, a country with a culture resembling medieval Japan. It is a fortified city protected by a powerful barrier created through magical technology, situated directly beneath the moon that always shines in the sky.

Through the government agency Tokinokuni Taifu, Ido called survivors scattered not only throughout Tokinokuni but across the world to gather in the city. From among those with exceptional abilities, it selected the Ink Destroyers.

They were entrusted with a mission to venture into the labyrinths: the most dangerous, forbidden areas within the regions consumed by ink.

Through their powers, the city sought a way to eliminate the calamity of the Ink of Ruin and purify the land.

What is the Ink of Ruin?

When the Ink of Ruin touches the living, some lose their minds and die. Others become monsters, attacking their siblings and beginning to devour their neighbors.

When it touches the dead, they return to life and wander in search of others to swell their ranks. Even lifeless objects may turn into ferociously writhing monsters.

Where did the Ink of Ruin come from? Is there a way to prevent its encroachment and make it disappear? Can the cursed people and the world be saved and restored to their original forms?

The world's fate now rests in the hands of the Ink Destroyers gathering in Ido, the city of the lingering moon.
