Love that begins after you start dating
The acclaimed PC game Making*Lovers comes to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
Story
“Romance is all about the process that leads up to going out together...!”
I have never had a girlfriend in my entire life. No matter how much people mocked me, I had a firm idea of romance that I would not compromise.
A fateful meeting, repeated encounters by chance, an exchange of contact details.
Then we would go out together on days off, become closer and move on to a proper date...
For me, what I called romance had to possess romance in that process leading up to a relationship.
Picking someone up or an arranged meeting was out of the question. Even being introduced by someone else was absolutely unacceptable: another person's arrangements were already involved!
I had lived by that belief all this time. But a girl's words suddenly made me change my mind.
“I think there is a kind of romance where you truly fall in love after you start dating.”
“Not every woman is good at falling in love, either.”
“Some people find it difficult to take the first step unless someone invites them, even insistently.”
Starting to go out together is only the beginning.
A sister who is a little too close; an older woman I met by chance; a university classmate reunited after a long time; a girl who eagerly shows how much she likes me; and a girl my own age who somehow took a liking to me.
What matters is how we deepen our relationship afterward.
This summer, I will bravely set foot in that uncharted territory I have never experienced before.
Dating is the starting point
Dating is a beginning rather than the goal. Making*Lovers starts with you suddenly entering a relationship with a heroine before the two of you know one another deeply.
Simply starting to date does not mean you can immediately kiss. Even holding hands can take time, and early dates can be so nerve-racking that you struggle to talk.
The chances to learn about your partner and the process of opening your hearts to one another all depend on what you do after the relationship begins.
Ako Takanashi
Your younger stepsister, with no blood relationship.
She and the protagonist have grown up together since childhood and can say what they want to one another.
At first she seems strongly childish, but she mainly shows that side of herself to her family and close friends.
Karen Kitaoji
A university classmate with whom you clash all the more because you know each other.
You belonged to the same club and had plenty of contact during university, but did not enjoy an especially good relationship.
On the contrary, knowing each other's faults means the relationship begins from negative feelings.
Her personality is very earnest and awkward, particularly when she falls in love.
Saki Naruse
Inexperienced with dating, she works as a weather forecaster.
Beautiful and academically accomplished, she was born and raised in a family whose relatives boast impressive academic achievements.
Despite that background, she dislikes a rigid life and has pursued what she wants for herself.
She carries an air of seriousness, grace and refinement that can make people hesitate to approach her. Once you get to know her, however, she is friendly and easy to talk to, with an endearing older-sister manner.
She has little experience with romance and is easily flustered when the conversation turns to relationships. Despite her composed appearance, she is easily swayed by a determined approach.
Mashiro Tsukino
A slightly mysterious girl with her own distinctive values, the same age as the protagonist.
Her communication skills are sound, but she organizes her thoughts before speaking, so her conversation runs at a slightly slower pace than those around her.
She has no experience of romance and is notably shy around the opposite sex.
