Following Mystery Dungeon comes Mystery Chronicle! It retains the distinctive mystery-game element of dungeons whose structure changes every time you play, while adding its own twist: a world that scrolls relentlessly forward, swallowing everything. A new forced-scroll RPG is born!

Story

Once, there was a world without a name. The kings of its various nations fought almost every day, each trying to make the world his own.

Then, one day, a messenger of calamity suddenly descended. The light of despair unleashed by that messenger spread rapidly from the edge of the world, swallowing living creatures and erasing them from existence.

And now, the light of despair has advanced to just outside the castle.

A one-way adventure with no turning back

One of the game's distinctive features is that the map is forced to scroll with every turn. The light of despair, Shine Raid, approaches from the left edge of the screen. The world disappears wherever the light swallows it, so the hero must continue adventuring toward the right while escaping Shine Raid.

Being swallowed by Shine Raid means game over. NPCs and items on the map also disappear when the light reaches them. You therefore need to explore the map efficiently while taking care not to be swallowed yourself.

Your class changes how you adventure

The hero can choose from more than 20 classes. Each class has different starting equipment and attributes, along with its own distinctive learnable skills.

Only a limited selection of classes is available at the start. By spending points earned according to the results of your playthroughs, you can unlock additional classes.

Japanese import version

This Japanese PlayStation 4 release is compatible with US PlayStation 4 systems as a region-free game. Japanese language is supported; other languages may be included but are unspecified. The manual and packaging are in Japanese.
