This multiplayer game's main elements include online cooperative Missions and the competitive Ninja World League. There is no story mode.

Offline play is limited to modes such as Missions intended for practising for online multiplayer, and is for one player only.

Ninja World League rankings are contested with players worldwide, but your region determines opponents offering the most suitable connection conditions. You can form a team with particular players, but cannot choose particular players as your opponents.

In the era of the Seventh Hokage, you are one of the rookie ninja visiting the Hidden Leaf Village to enter its martial-arts tournament, the Ninja World League.

Join players from around the world in the Hidden Leaf Village online lobby, form four-person cells and strive to be the strongest in the Ninja World League, where the title of the ninja world's strongest is at stake.

Eight ninja in four-person-cell battles

Form a team of four with online companions and enjoy four-versus-four multiplayer ninja battles. Coordination with teammates is the key to victory.

Fight through varied rules, including Barrier Battle, with attacking and defending sides; Flag Battle, where teams compete over the flags at their bases; and Combat Battle, an all-out fight until one team's strength gauge reaches zero.

Lead your team to victory by considering the four types that determine available ninjutsu and play styles.

Acrobatic action on three-dimensional maps

Use wall running, wire kunai and other acrobatic ninja actions to fly freely around the maps and race across their vast fields as you wish.

You are the protagonist

The avatar system lets you freely customise your appearance and battle style.

Have scrolls earned as battle rewards appraised at the ninja-tool shop. Use weapons, costumes and other customisation items to create your own original ninja.

Learn varied ninjutsu under legendary ninja from Naruto and Boruto. Alongside Naruto and Sasuke, techniques from Pain and Itachi also appear.
