A new fantasy strategy RPG
Natural Doctrine brings a new simulation RPG to PlayStation players, combining classic fantasy with new tactical challenges. Many different species inhabit its world alongside humanity. Its evolving tactical system asks players to understand space and consider timing, while an unfolding drama explores the world's hidden truths. Think carefully, follow a dramatic story and fight dynamic battles.
Changes in viewpoint and character placement challenge familiar SRPG conventions. A third-person-style control interface lets players direct characters within tactical encounters, giving battles a dynamic presentation.
Story
People live by sword and magic, resisting threats from demi-humans and other species. Escort guard If and his female partner protect a mining expedition led by a young woman, advancing through tunnels occupied by demi-humans. The expedition takes control of their mines and seizes valuable minerals that sustain the lives and culture of privileged citizens in a fortified city.
Fighting other species, winning resources and defending that city might one day earn If privileged citizenship: that is his dream of a proper future. Yet something changes that day. A process of selection begins, drawing every faction into nature's great doctrine. The world around If and his companions transforms.
PlayStation features at release
The game was developed for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. Its story-driven single-player mode supported cross-save, while the network multiplayer mode offered varied competitive and cooperative play with cross-play between all three platforms.
