One day, a boy became a king

After its predecessor, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, won numerous awards overseas, the latest fantasy RPG in the Ni no Kuni series arrives.

The creative team reunites: planning and production by Level-5, music by Joe Hisaishi and character design by Yoshiyuki Momose, formerly of Studio Ghibli.

A conspiracy drives the young king Evan from his country. After parting with someone precious to him, he resolves to build a kingdom of his own. This is the story of a boy's journey to become a great king and defeat a formidable evil.

The world of Ni no Kuni

Freely adventure across vast, beautiful fields presented like a diorama.

Battle system

Use swords and other weapons for close-range attacks, or wands for ranged magical attacks. Combining buttons produces a variety of melee attacks, while extending the casting time increases the power of ranged attacks.

Spend the skill gauge to use powerful special techniques known as Skills.

Cooperate with Higgledies

Higgledies are dependable allies who bond with Evan and his companions and fight alongside them. They provide various effects in battle, from throwing spears at enemies to healing wounded companions.

Charging before activating a skill lets you channel the power of nearby Higgledies.

Spinning Slash can cooperate with fire, water, wind and other Higgledies, creating attacks that mix a variety of elements.

Aqua Ball activates through cooperation with water Higgledies. This raises the spell's level and makes it a powerful attack.

Many other combinations are possible. Use weapons, magic, Higgledies and skills together to challenge mighty enemies.

Skirmishes

Control units with different characteristics and defeat the approaching enemy army. Use the tactics of your unit commanders effectively to gain an advantage.

Kingdom Mode

Develop your realm and build a kingdom of your own. Recruit people and construct facilities such as weapon-production workshops and magic research laboratories.

To develop the kingdom, you manage not only the castle but also the various facilities and personnel in its surrounding town. A thriving kingdom helps you make progress in your adventure, so concentrate on its development and build your own My Kingdom.

The characters

Evan, voiced by Mirai Shida: the former king of Ding Dong Dell. He inherited the throne at a young age following his father's death. Kind-hearted and intelligent, his withdrawn nature led others to doubt his suitability as king. A coup forces him from his kingdom.

Roland, voiced by Hidetoshi Nishijima: in Ichi no Kuni, the other world, he is the 48-year-old president of a major nation. A young leader with extremely high public approval, he acts in Ni no Kuni as a young man of twenty.

Tani, voiced by Mugi Kadowaki: daughter of the sky-pirate boss Batu. Raised by a born leader, she has a strongly tomboyish personality. She secretly likes cute, girlish things, but rarely shows it because she feels it does not fit her image.

Batu, voiced by Kotaro Yoshida: feared throughout Ni no Kuni as the Viper of the Skies, he claims Cloudcoil Canyon as his territory. Bold and naturally commanding, he is highly respected by the sky pirates. He took in Tani when she was small and raised her as his daughter.
