Is this a curse—or a sin?

NieR:Automata is an action RPG produced by Square Enix and developed by PlatinumGames. It tells a story that stirs varied emotions, reaching beyond entertainment alone, in an open world presented smoothly at 60 frames per second.

A struggle to reclaim Earth

In the distant future, aliens suddenly invade. Their weapons, the machine lifeforms, possess overwhelming military power, driving humanity from Earth to take refuge on the Moon.

Humanity organizes a resistance army of android soldiers to reclaim the planet. To break the stalemate, it deploys a new combat-infantry force: YoRHa. Play as 2B, a member of this newly organized android unit, and enter the fierce battle to take back Earth.

In a barren land without humans, machine weapons and androids wage a ferocious war. Eventually, that conflict opens the door to an unknown truth.

High-speed battle action

In this open-world action RPG, combat takes place seamlessly on the field map. The controls are much simpler than they appear: combine the Square button’s speed attacks with the Triangle button’s heavy attacks to unleash high-speed action.

Evade an enemy attack with the R2 button. Continue moving after the dodge to dash.

A seamlessly connected open world

The entire world connects seamlessly, with broad, beautiful landscapes that invite you to linger. Alongside the main story, numerous side events are scattered throughout this smoothly rendered world.
