New systems deepen the realism of operations across multiple fronts. Lead a coalition of daimyo from across Japan, or direct distinctive corps commanders through the subordinate corps system.

Operations grow from the scale of individual strongholds to that of entire corps. Coordinate subordinate corps, allied countries and subordinate factions, managing cooperation and betrayal in a turbulent Sengoku world of schemes and intrigue. Direct forces in different regions together to create nationwide clashes on the scale of Sekigahara.

Every domestic administration command can now be carried out at every stronghold. Manage your territory in finer detail and develop more than 300 castle towns.

Read the battlefield and command your units

Battlefield encounters become more dynamic and tactically demanding. Multiple friendly and enemy units move freely across the battlefield, and you can control several units and direct their movements.

Entirely new battlefield maps are joined by new situations, including battles for key positions and strongholds. Adapt your commands to the terrain and the placement of your troops to experience larger, more tactical clashes. The battle system and presentation receive major improvements, while events unfolding during encounters recreate famous battles dramatically.

New scenarios, quests and officers

Four new scenarios span the era from before Oda Nobunaga's birth to the struggle at Sekigahara. They include The Birth of Nobunaga, dated 1534, and The Battle of Sekigahara, with a scenario date of 1599.

Many new Sengokuden quests make the period more dramatic, covering ordinary daimyo as well as famous rulers. More than 500 additional officers bring the total to over 1,800, the largest roster in the series.

More ways to govern and shape the world

New features answer player requests and broaden the possibilities of play. Renovation commands let you strengthen strongholds as you choose. Resources support new facilities, and military and commercial ports add further detail to the map.

Coalition commands enable nationwide unity, while subordinate corps let you fight alongside commanders with distinct personalities. Diplomacy with the imperial court and positions in the shogunate add new political options. Secret negotiations, inducing defection, reconciliation and mediation bring the era's intricate manoeuvring into play.

Editing tools let you change factions, strongholds, roads and officers. Policies, traits, facilities and local warrior groups also gain new features. Interface improvements make the game more comfortable to play.
