The ultimate Sengoku experience, dedicated to every Sengoku enthusiast

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Taishi inherits the series’ traditions while evolving further into an experience that even longstanding fans have never encountered.

The finest strategy, negotiations, scope and historical drama come together in a Sengoku experience dedicated to everyone who loves this period.

By focusing on each officer’s “Resolve”, the game depicts their humanity as well as their abilities.

Experience the series’ greatest immersion and feel as though you are truly competing for supremacy against the officers living through this turbulent age.

The finest strategy: introducing the Resolve system

The new Resolve system makes its first appearance in the series.

Every daimyo and officer in the game, including the daimyo selected by the player, has a Resolve.

Resolve is much more than a single statistic: it expresses a daimyo’s way of thinking.

It substantially changes gameplay itself, including battle policies, domestic administration and objectives.

Different Resolves produce major differences in available commands, faction-management policies and preferred tactics.

This system brings realism to the actions of each ruling daimyo while pursuing the pleasure of thinking deeply, one of the most important aspects of simulation games.

The finest negotiations: transforming the simulation AI

The Resolve system also has a major effect on officers’ decisions.

Each officer has values and a vision of the future shaped by their Resolve, so different officers can make different decisions in the same situation.

In diplomacy, for example, they consider whether an alliance serves the strategy needed to fulfil their Resolve, rather than judging solely by national strength or friendly relations.

The greatly evolved simulation AI therefore looks beyond immediate advantages and disadvantages to the future vision defined by Resolve.

This creates a new approach to simulation-game AI and recreates a turbulent age in which many different values intersect.

The greatest scope: a different experience for every daimyo house

Because Resolve affects commands and AI, the experience changes in ways that go beyond a house’s geographical advantages or the relative abilities of its officers.

This creates gameplay that encourages repeated play with many different daimyo.

An even more beautiful 3D map of Japan

Graphical quality is improved as well.

The 3D national map depicting Sengoku Japan, praised in Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence, evolves further.

According to the original product announcement, Sengoku Japan is represented at one hundred times the detail of the preceding game.

The game uses a single 3D map of the whole country, the most detailed in the series.

Japan is portrayed so realistically that looking into the distance conveys the curvature of the Earth.

Many famous castles are recreated, including Azuchi Castle and Inabayama Castle, beautifully depicting their appearance in the Sengoku period.

More than 2,000 officers appear, the largest roster in the series at the time of the announcement.

Many officers receive newly drawn portraits, and certain officers are depicted differently in wartime and peacetime.

The finest historical drama: events illuminate officers’ lives

Numerous events depict not only major historical incidents and conflicts, as in previous games, but also carefully portray episodes revealing officers’ lives and personalities, along with legends from throughout Japan.

In addition to the series’ concept of enjoying alternative possibilities in the Sengoku period, the game aims to convey the fascination and interest of this era and its history to Sengoku enthusiasts, history fans and many others.

Beautiful music pursuing a Japanese aesthetic

The well-received background music is further refined, with beautiful melodies that pursue a Japanese aesthetic and enhance the experience.

The original promotional screenshots showed a game still in development.
