Occult × science: the fusion of two opposing elements

Occultic;Nine is a game adaptation of the original novel published by Overlap Bunko, written by Chiyomaru Shikura and illustrated by pako. The novel was also adapted into a television anime in 2016.

The story interprets the existence of ghosts scientifically and unfolds from a distinctive perspective. This remarkable occult adventure explores the science of the occult through developments you cannot predict.

Can nine eccentrics in Kichijoji change the world’s common sense?

Yuta Gamon, who lives in Kichijoji, runs the occult-focused aggregation blog Kirikiri Basara. He spends his days hoping to strike it rich through affiliate income.

Through Yuta’s blog, the fates of nine strangers begin intersecting in many different ways.

This creates a small sense that something is wrong, which eventually leads to an incident beyond anyone’s imagination.

Black magic, the world after death, supernatural powers, fortune-telling, other-dimensional worlds, prophecy, hypnosis and urban legends: the world is full of fraud!

Do you believe in ghosts?

Question: Do you believe in ghosts?
Answer: Of course they don’t exist.

He was supposed to cut through the occult fraud that fills the world, but...

Ghosts, UFOs, unidentified mysterious animals, supernatural powers, black magic, urban legends and the countless inexplicable events called paranormal phenomena.

Kirikiri Basara brings together ardent believers in these things and people who want to scientifically expose and refute the fraud known as the occult, giving them a place to argue.

Yuta Gamon runs Kirikiri Basara.

His lofty purpose is to make money from affiliate marketing by using the occult as material.

Although he does not believe in the occult himself, while investigating a potentially profitable blog topic, he discovers the body of a murder victim.

Shaken, Yuta escapes without being seen by anyone. Unintentionally, however, the discovery is connected with the major 256 Incident, in which 256 bodies are found in the pond at Inokashira Park, and draws him into a vast conspiracy involving the existence of ghosts.

A traditional adventure-game format

Read through the text in a traditional adventure-game format from Yuta Gamon’s perspective. Presenting an everyday space within the screen heightens the sense of immersion.

The story advances in chapters and comprises 12 episodes, with some endings that differ from the novel and anime.

Unlike the anime, the game tells its story in chronological order, making it easier to follow.

Using the Blog Trigger, also called the Affi Trigger, which appears from time to time as you progress causes the story to branch and changes the ending.

Affi Trigger: collect topics, then publish

Protagonist Yuta Gamon is an affiliate blogger. Whether thinking alone or talking to someone, he is always searching for blog topics. When a word catches his attention, he locks onto it.

Using the words he has memorised, think of an article headline, choose an image for its thumbnail, then upload the blog post.

The story branches according to the headline and thumbnail image you choose.

Original Limited Edition contents

The Limited Edition originally includes a newly recorded drama CD and a magazine-style setting-material collection containing the story’s locations, props and character design illustrations, allowing fans to enjoy Occultic;Nine more deeply.

The setting-material collection was originally announced as B5 format with 64 pages planned.

This is a Used copy. The presence and completeness of original discs, booklets and other package contents are not guaranteed.
