Resident Evil 5 returns in Full HD

Originally released in March 2009, Resident Evil 5 was the series’ first HD title and introduced full cooperative play. On the scorching African continent, veteran protagonist Chris Redfield faces Albert Wesker. The contrast between blazing sunlight and darkness creates fear that is now even more vivid, with higher resolution and frame rates.

Story

About ten years have passed since the unprecedented Raccoon Incident, caused by the escape of Umbrella’s biological weapons. Survivor Chris Redfield now serves as an agent of the anti-bioterrorism organization BSAA.

He joins an operation to apprehend a biological-weapons dealer in the Kijuju Autonomous Zone of an African country. There, he learns of an immense conspiracy unfolding in the region—and Wesker’s involvement.

The Mercenaries United

Two game modes are combined, allowing characters to be used across their former boundaries. In the original Resident Evil 5, The Mercenaries became available only after completing the main story. In United, it is playable from the start, with every character and stage already unlocked and ready to select.

Alongside The Mercenaries United, this release includes two additional scenarios and various other extras, letting you experience Resident Evil 5 in depth.

Lost in Nightmares

This additional scenario takes place before the main game. Seeking information about Wesker, BSAA members Chris and Jill explore the mansion of former Umbrella leader Spencer.

Desperate Escape

This scenario shows events occurring during the main story from a different perspective. An investigation into biological-weapons trafficking in Africa proves to be the beginning of a huge act of bioterrorism threatening the entire world. Chris and Sheva pursue its mastermind, Wesker, while BSAA members Jill and Josh begin their escape from deadly danger.

Versus

This extra game supports online competition for up to four players. Slayers pits players against one another for points earned by defeating creatures. Survivors awards points for fighting other players. Both modes offer individual and team competition.

Extra costumes

The edition includes Extra Costume Packs 1 and 2, originally sold separately as downloadable content.
