PlayStation 4 Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 Remake – Treasure Box

Infinite drama among a thousand officers

The historical simulation Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII returns after more than twenty years.

All Officers Play has evolved: experience the world of the Three Kingdoms with any officer as your protagonist, including a ruler.

Numerous additions portray the officers' humanity. Destiny dramatically changes developments through the connections between officers; Tales let you choose from many stories and unfolding events; and battles have been reborn with faster pacing and greater depth.

Visuals combining 2D and 3D technology feel both familiar and new. Many officer portraits have been newly drawn for this game, bringing a fresh feeling to play. With the series' greatest number of officers and scenarios, this is presented as its finest officer drama.

1,000 officers and more than 55 scenarios

Based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII and Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII with Power Up Kit, this remake adds a variety of systems, events and data to create the series' largest volume of content.

Officers and forces absent from VIII have been added, greatly increasing the officer count to 1,000. Its defining scenarios spanning every year also return, with more than 55 including hypothetical scenarios—the most in the series.

Choose any officer across every period from the end of the Later Han to the end of the Three Kingdoms era, and play freely with the combinations you want.

The Three Kingdoms brought to life through new visuals and voices

The new visual approach combines 2D and 3D. Rich graphics renew the presentation while preserving the atmosphere of Romance of the Three Kingdoms VIII.

The game also contains the series' largest amount of recorded voice work. Important events feature fully voiced animated movies, portraying famous episodes of the Three Kingdoms through beautiful imagery.

Rebuilt battles

The systems have been reconstructed from the ground up using current technology and more than twenty years of historical simulation experience since VIII's release. The original's appeal remains, while pacing and balance have been substantially improved.

New elements absent from the original, such as linked actions, make combat approachable while providing considerable tactical depth.

Battlefield maps have also been renewed with the game's distinctive fusion of 2D and 3D. The battlefields use modern 3D technology, while distant scenery adopts an ink-painting style. The result combines powerful battles with the immersion of fighting within a story.

Relationship chart

Check the relationship chart to see connections changing dynamically during play. It shows sworn siblings and spouses, Destiny partners with harmonious or opposing relationships, and special connections such as rivals and bitter enemies who regard the player as their opponent. This wide variety of human relationships becomes clear at a glance.

Tales

Events range from major historical incidents and anecdotes about officers to recurring occurrences in everyday life. Through Tales, you can choose which of these many events to trigger according to your own wishes.

Some events also present choices. Your decisions dynamically change officers' lives and the world of the Three Kingdoms.
