PlayStation 4 Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII

The culmination of 30 years of Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Experience the stories of great heroes on a vast scale. Since its first release in 1985, the historical simulation series Romance of the Three Kingdoms has continued to captivate fans. This ambitious thirtieth-anniversary installment introduces numerous challenging systems around the concept of a richly unfolding drama of heroes. Sometimes compete and sometimes cooperate with the extraordinary figures who lived through this turbulent age, weaving your own Three Kingdoms era and becoming the protagonist of your own history.

Human drama through playing as any officer

Choose freely from more than 700 officers—the largest roster in the series—from a subordinate officer to a ruler, and experience the Three Kingdoms from their position. New relationship charts and bond systems depict the dramatic lives of people in this turbulent age. Join forces with brilliant strategists and matchless warriors, or compete with them, to create a story of your own.

The accessible Hero Mode lets you learn how the game progresses while reliving the heroes' stories and gaining a deeper understanding of the Three Kingdoms. Major officers have separate illustrations for battle and domestic administration, and their appearance also changes according to age and position.

Spectacle on an unprecedented scale

Large-scale 3D graphics depict the distinctive battlefields of the Three Kingdoms: field battles, naval combat, sieges and duels between mighty officers. Command sweeping strategies and battles, with great armies moving in real time, familiar tactics and officer commands interweaving, and stratagems capable of overturning the battlefield. The ever-changing situation is presented vividly from moment to moment.

Dynamism across all of China

The whole of China, the stage of this history, is recreated in full 3D on one seamless map. Vast plains, great rivers, mountains and deserts give each region its own scenery, connecting continuously to the interiors of its fortified cities. Up to 60 regional cities—the most in the series—are portrayed with dramatically evolved visuals. Their appearance changes in many ways according to how the game progresses and the policies adopted for urban development.
