A terror that eats away at the boundary of reason

The direct sequel to the horror adventure Shin Hayarigami, which appeared in 2014, was released in summer 2016. Its scenario is supervised by Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Niikawa, who wrote the scenario for the first Hayarigami.

The science and occult route branching popular in the earlier series returns, and other systems have also been enhanced. This horror adventure pursues the quiet, refined fear distinctive to Hayarigami, with urban legends as its theme.

Events in G Prefecture

Two years after the Blind Man incident in the previous Shin Hayarigami, investigate a variety of cases from the perspective of protagonist Saki Hojo, a prefectural police detective.

Urban legends surrounding the cases

Urban legends are eerie rumors whose truth is uncertain, spreading as they draw in many people. Cases that seem to bring those urban legends into reality unfold in an omnibus of five independent episodes.

Science or the occult

Did a human cause the incident, or was it something supernatural beyond human understanding? Your investigative policy branches the story into a Science Route or an Occult Route. How you interpret and solve each case is up to you.

Courage Points

These points are required when making a statement that demands courage or taking an important decision. They are allocated at the beginning of a scenario. Once they reach zero, options that consume Courage Points can no longer be chosen. Plan how you spend them.

Liar’s Art

This technique of psychological confrontation manipulates lies to expose the truth. Use clues from the other person’s personality and conversation to shake their emotions and uncover what is true. Choose your own statements while judging which remarks will unsettle them.

Self-Question

By selecting answers in a question-and-answer dialogue with yourself, you can organize the events and facts established so far. Some important Self-Questions change how the subsequent story develops.
