STEINS;GATE rebuilt as a fully animated adventure

STEINS;GATE is reborn as an entirely new, fully animated adventure: more than a game and more than an anime.

First released for Xbox 360 on October 15, 2009, the story immediately attracted acclaim as an exceptional game and went on to move audiences through television and theatrical anime adaptations.

Popular as the second installment in the Science Adventure series, set in Akihabara, STEINS;GATE expanded into television anime, a feature film, manga and stage productions. Including ports and spin-offs, the series exceeded one million copies sold at the time of ELITE's announcement.

This edition renews its presentation with stills and animation from the television series, offering a greater sense of immediacy and immersion. Advance the anime through your own decisions and experience newly animated endings that were not depicted on television.

A chance discovery that defies even God

The twelfth theory that would blaspheme even God: a chance discovery that fell into our hands.

Rintaro Okabe, the protagonist, is a university student who leads the Future Gadget Laboratory, a small club making strange inventions in Akihabara.

By chance, their latest creation can send emails into the past. A worldwide conspiracy begins to swirl around them, and a chaotic future opens before their eyes.

Play the anime

This is 5pb.'s first fully animated adventure. Its basic format is a conventional adventure game in which you read the story from Rintaro Okabe's perspective.

Where earlier adventure games progressed through character portraits, event illustrations and a text window, here pressing the button to advance the text sets the anime scene in motion. Interactive animation draws you into the world and its emotions, creating a different level of immersion.

New animation and a refined system

WHITE FOX, the studio responsible for the television anime, creates new animation for the many endings that the TV series did not depict.

The Phone Trigger system remains, with clearer screen displays and a stronger sense of immediacy. Routes have been reorganized so that anime fans unfamiliar with text adventures can understand the game and enjoy it through to the end.

The publisher's revised release announcement also added a special film strip featuring five frames from newly created animation, with a randomly selected 35 mm strip included in first-production copies.
