The original Champion Edition concept

At launch, Champion Edition was presented as a value package bringing together the base game and over 2,000 pieces of content released through Season 4, including additional characters, stages and alternate costumes.

This Used physical copy supplies the base game. The separate Champion Edition Upgrade Kit and its additional content are not included; the original package's expanded-content description is a historical description, not a promise of ownership of those extras.

The original Upgrade Kit comprised forty characters—sixteen default characters and the rights to twenty-four additional characters through Season 4—more than two hundred alternate costumes and their color variations, twenty-three additional stages, fifty-six background-music tracks, 232 titles and forty fighter-profile themes.
