Strange bonds formed in the land where demons lie

This is a story woven by humans and sudama—spirits...

Not far from the Sea of Japan lies Onibushi, a country town in a basin surrounded by mountains on all sides. Travel farther into the countryside and you will reach the even more rural settlement of Kobo.

Today is April 6, 2023: entrance-ceremony day at Keijo Academy's high-school division, the only school in Kobo.

The academy has reached its tenth anniversary, though nobody knows why it was opened in this depopulated area. A new student arrives there. His name is En Ayakari.

“Return to Kobo.”

Following his mother's last wishes, he has moved here from the city. He remembers living in this place when he was little.

There was no meaning or purpose in returning now. Yet new encounters and nostalgic reunions draw him into the noisy quagmire of carefully selecting the academy's Seven Mysteries.

Keijo Academy's high-school division does not yet have Seven Mysteries of its own.
