Taiko no Tatsujin finally comes to PlayStation 4

Enjoy the Taiko no Tatsujin experience familiar from arcades in your own home.

More than 70 songs include popular classics everyone knows and recent hits, alongside Namco originals and classical music.

The Performance Game offers a first-class drumming experience. Three new modes, Friend Session, Guest Session and Taiko Ranked Match, join features such as Best Replay and Training that help you keep improving.

Guest Session: perform with popular characters

Play sessions with Doraemon, Hatsune Miku, Hello Kitty, Pac-Man and Heihachi Mishima from Tekken 7.

During performances, enjoy the guest characters’ different lines and actions as you play together with your favourite character.

Friend Session: play with friends’ and family members’ data

Friends appear on the song-selection screen. Register the Sony Entertainment Network accounts of friends and family as friends, and you can perform alongside their playing data even when they are not there with you.

Enjoy lively, fun sessions together with your friends’ performance data.

Taiko Ranked Match: test yourself against players across Japan

Compete with players around the country. The game matches you with another player’s performance data according to your skill level.

Win by exceeding your opponent’s score in the Performance Game.

Winning matches earns victory medals. Collect enough medals to advance in rank and aim for the top.

Playing Taiko Ranked Match also earns match points. Check the match-point rankings too.

Mission Bingo

Complete the bingo missions set for each song to earn Don coins for the Item Treasure Box.

Missions include hitting at least 200 notes and achieving a maximum combo of at least 90.

Item Treasure Box

Spend Don coins collected in the Performance Game on the reward draw.

Rewards include dress-up items, little companion characters, titles, greetings and more.

Customisation Room

Freely dress up Don-chan, your in-game counterpart.

There are more than 200 dress-up parts in total. Create a Don-chan that is uniquely yours.

Best Replay

Challenge yourself in a score attack while comparing your performance with your best score.

Your best performance data plays back in the lower lane, helping you see where you made mistakes and identify your weak points.

Network requirements

Friend Session and Taiko Ranked Match require a Sony Entertainment Network account and an internet connection for PlayStation 4.

A PlayStation Plus subscription is not required.

A dedicated drum controller

The dedicated Taiko and Drumsticks for PlayStation 4 controller lets you enjoy a performance experience like the arcade.

A bundle combining one dedicated drum-controller set with the game was released alongside the standalone game. Hori also released the controller separately.
