Legends will one day become hope

Tales of Zestiria, the series’ twentieth-anniversary title, returns in the affordable Welcome Price!! edition. Its story shares a connected world with Tales of Berseria.

With “zest”—passion and enthusiasm—as its theme, Zestiria tells a grand story woven by appealing characters centered on protagonist Sorey.

A world in the Age of Chaos

Two powerful nations compete for control of the Glenwood continent. Deep in a forest people cannot enter lies a village recalling the ideal coexistence of humans and seraphim spoken of in legend. Malevolence has spread throughout the continent, while this seraphim village remains unaffected.

A human taken in there, Sorey has grown into a pure-hearted young man without knowing that evil. One day, after helping Alisha, a princess of the kingdom of Highland who has become lost in nearby ancient ruins, he learns of the outside world’s suffering and the calamities afflicting it.

What answer will Sorey give as the Shepherd, an existence held in awe by the people? The tale of the Shepherd who appears in the era called the Age of Chaos begins.

Characters and performances

Alongside Mutsumi Inomata and Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura and Minoru Iwamoto design a large cast of distinctive, appealing characters. An accomplished voice cast makes the story more dramatic.

Sorey is a pure-hearted human youth raised among seraphim. Gentle and open about his feelings, he dreams of exploring the romance of the ancient world. He is voiced by Ryohei Kimura.

Alisha is a princess of Highland. Though naturally bright and charming, she sees herself as a knight protecting her country rather than emphasizing her noble status. She is voiced by Ai Kayano.

Mikleo is Sorey’s childhood friend and a seraph associated with water. He is voiced by Ryota Osaka.

Animation and music

ufotable creates the impressive, high-quality animation. Superfly, known for powerful vocals and an original musical character, performs the theme song, enriching the world of this grand story.

Explore on an unprecedented scale

The fields have evolved greatly from earlier entries, offering broad, undulating landscapes that awaken a sense of adventure. Towns and vast fields use characters and objects at nearly life-sized proportions, creating an immersive experience. Transitions between areas and into battle scenes are smooth and comfortable.

Encounters begin by touching monster symbols moving around the field in real time. Battle starts where contact occurs, so the field you were exploring becomes the battle area.

Fusionic Chain Linear Motion Battle System

The familiar LMBS is further evolved. Combat combines two distinct styles: humans concentrate on mobile close-range attacks, while seraphim use ranged artes. The basic party contains two human-and-seraph pairs, for four characters in total. Humans cannot pair with one another, nor can seraphim, but partners can be switched instantly.

Armatization

Sorey and a companion can fuse and transform into one combatant. This temporary fusion of a human with their seraph partner grants powerful techniques. The seraph chosen changes the resulting element, appearance and fighting style.

Enjoy the exhilaration of sweeping away groups of enemies while strategically changing seraph partners to gain an advantage. Switching to suit the situation greatly expands your tactical possibilities.
