Ys 3goo

The beginning of Ys, in a Special Edition

The acclaimed action RPG Ys Origin comes to PlayStation 4 in a lavish Special Edition. Since the first Ys game in 1987, Nihon Falcom's popular action RPG series had sold approximately 4.8 million copies at the time of this release. Ys Origin is set around 700 years before the year in which the series hero Adol Christin begins his adventures.

This console version is a modern reworking of the PC game released by Nihon Falcom in 2006.

A young apprentice knight, a brilliant young mage and a mysterious man with the power to become a fearsome demon: three characters with unique skills and abilities use different tactics to defeat bosses as their adventures advance.

Explore a beautiful, grand world centred on the ancient kingdom of Ys, a temple that has risen into the sky and a tower constructed by monsters. Three game modes are available: Story, Time Attack and Boss Rush.

A prequel that welcomes new players

This prequel depicts the beginnings of the world of Ys, a popular series with more than 30 years of history. In contrast to the continuing adventures of a single hero in the main series, this side story follows different protagonists. It is also recommended for players discovering the classic Ys series for the first time.

Exhilarating action and an accessible challenge

The Ys series is known for changing RPG fans' impression that action games are too difficult to progress through. Its balance of accessibility and exhilarating action, including demanding but carefully balanced boss battles, has earned the series a strong reputation among fans who have enjoyed action RPGs for three decades.

Special Edition physical contents

This packaged edition was created especially for series fans. Its distinctive retro-sized box is based on the first limited edition package released by Nihon Falcom in 2006. The included art book takes inspiration from that edition's official visual book and presents detailed character illustrations, rough sketches, concept art and other material.

The original soundtrack is included as a deluxe two-disc set containing all tracks, including the opening theme Genesis Beyond the Beginning. Its music dramatically brings the world of Ys Origin to life.

An original A2 poster features Reah and Feena, the twin goddesses who protect Ys. Their white feathers and translucent beauty evoke a soothing, uplifting scene.

As this is a Used item, the presence and condition of the original box, art book, poster and soundtrack CDs depend on the individual copy.
