PlayStation 4 Zettai Kaikyu Gakuen

The popular otome game arrives on PlayStation 4 in Full HD

Zettai Kaikyu Gakuen is a romance adventure originally released for PC in May 2015 by Daisy2, the otome game brand behind the hit Sangoku Rensenki: Otome no Heihou! That original all-ages PC release and the PlayStation Vita version released in June 2016 were both well received.

The story takes place at Private Kaikyu Academy, a school ruled by discrimination under an absolute class system. Its three classes are the privileged Blooming Roses, the commoner Nameless Honeybees and the enslaved Discarded Stones.

The protagonist's class changes according to how the story progresses. Her behavior and the reactions of those around her change with her class, and your choices can make the romanceable characters friendly or cold toward her.

With captivating graphics and beautiful music, this popular game portrays romance across social divides in dramatic fashion. It now comes to PlayStation 4 with the highest quality of its console ports.

Story

The protagonist lives in an impoverished district within the Ring Area surrounding Tokyo Bay. Her life is modest but peaceful, until her father—her only family—suddenly disappears.

He leaves only a mysterious letter: “Go to Kaikyu Academy.”

Private Kaikyu Academy is a prestigious boarding school established to educate the elite who will lead Japan's future. It admits only children from privileged families. Following her father's letter, the protagonist transfers to this school where the wealthy gather.

Yet behind its unimaginable luxury, the academy is ruled by status discrimination based on an absolute class system.

At the top is the Queen, who governs the students and holds every power. Beneath her are the Blooming Roses: chosen elites who enjoy every advantage. The Nameless Honeybees are commoners and make up most of the student body. The Discarded Stones belong to the enslaved class, treated like servants and made to labor despite being students themselves.

There is also the Resistance, a group of students who oppose the absolute system.

What romance will the protagonist encounter in this society of unimaginable inequality? And what truth about the academy will gradually emerge?

Newly drawn event illustrations

Scenes that previously unfolded using standing character portraits and background graphics now feature newly drawn event illustrations, bringing even more vivid color to the world of Zettai Kaikyu Gakuen.

New event illustrations have been added for all five romanceable characters.

The highest resolution of the console ports

The game supports Full HD at 1920 × 1080 pixels, the highest resolution among its console ports and far beyond the PlayStation Vita version. Enjoy even more beautiful visuals and greater emotional impact.

Improved voices and background music

The capacity of the Blu-ray disc allows higher-quality voice recordings, bringing the sound closer to the original performances. Background music has also been improved, so you can enjoy the game's beautiful music at higher quality.

Full voice acting from an outstanding cast

The five romanceable characters are performed by Daisuke Namikawa, Ryohei Kimura, Tetsuya Kakihara, Tomoaki Maeno and Kaito Ishikawa.

Supporting characters are also voiced by popular performers including Ryotaro Okiayu, Shinichiro Miki and Masaaki Yamanaka. The entire story is fully voiced, except for the protagonist, bringing it vividly to life.

Riku Takamine — voiced by Daisuke Namikawa

“Remember this. I am not someone you can casually clap on the shoulder!”

A third-year student of the Blooming Roses class, Riku is the heir to the Takamine conglomerate. His particularly outstanding status has earned him the title Lord Red Rose.

Arrogant by nature, he struggles to express his true feelings. He also has an awkward habit of becoming needlessly aggressive toward people he likes.

Rei Saginomiya — voiced by Ryohei Kimura

“I hope you will settle into the academy as soon as possible.”

A third-year student of the Blooming Roses class, Rei is the eldest son of the Saginomiya family, which descends from court nobility. Like Riku, he stands at the center of school life and is admired as Lord White Rose.

He treats everyone kindly regardless of class, yet rarely reveals what he truly feels.

Ichiha Kaji — voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara

“Come leap into my welcoming arms, kitten.”

A second-year student of the Nameless Honeybees class, Ichiha is friendly and easy to get along with. Yet he is also calculating and skilled at getting ahead, sometimes openly changing his attitude according to the situation or the person he faces.

He loves girls and is the school's foremost playboy.

Toya Nanase — voiced by Tomoaki Maeno

“If you get sick of this academy, come to me. You'll be welcome.”

A second-year student of the Discarded Stones class, Toya leads the Resistance against the academy's system.

His firm sense of justice prevents him from overlooking wrongdoing or people in trouble. He questions the class system rooted in the academy and the meaning of their own existence within it.

Haru Igarashi — voiced by Kaito Ishikawa

“Nothing good will come of talking to someone like me.”

A first-year student of the Discarded Stones class, Haru is quiet and distant, making it difficult to tell what he is thinking. When he does speak, he can be remarkably sharp-tongued.

His androgynous appearance, combined with his low class, makes him a target of bullying, and he is constantly getting hurt.
