Ichiro Mizuki's themes for Pro Golfer Saru return in the first reissue of their seven-inch single. Based on Fujiko Fujio A's manga, the anime is represented by opening theme Yume wo Kachitorou on side A and ending theme My Way Sarumaru on side B, presented with a reproduction of the original jacket design.
Yume wo Kachitorou begins with Sarumaru's famous declaration, voiced by Kyoko Tongu, before Mizuki's powerful vocal takes over. Golf enthusiast Fujiko Fujio A wrote the lyrics himself, using the sport's terminology to express the manga's world. In contrast, My Way Sarumaru is a comic song reflecting the hero's independent, innocent and slightly mischievous personality.
Both songs pair Asei Kobayashi's composition with Hiroshi Tsutsui's arrangement, reuniting a celebrated partnership from the Showa-era anime-song tradition.
