Radiation House TV Series

The eccentric genius radiological technologist is back! Team Rajiha returns to uncover illnesses that cannot be seen at first glance, in a second season that originally arrived around two years after the first.

Finding an illness is not the work of the attending doctor alone. Radiological technologists investigate its cause and reveal abnormalities through X-rays and CT scans, while radiologists interpret diagnostic examinations—including X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound and electrocardiography—to reach a diagnosis. Their workplace is the radiology department, the “Radiation House.” The struggle of these unsung heroes to identify the roots of their patients’ illnesses and injuries begins again.

The drama adapts the manga of the same name serialised in Shueisha’s Grand Jump. At the time of the second season’s original promotion, the manga, published in collected volumes since June 2016, had reached 11 volumes and exceeded two million copies in print and digital circulation.

Masataka Kubota returns as gifted technologist Iori Igarashi, marking his seventh consecutive year leading a terrestrial television drama. Tsubasa Honda, Alice Hirose, Kenta Hamano, Tomomi Maruyama, Masato Yano, Sayaka Yamaguchi, Kenichi Endo, Nobuyuki Suzuki, Kazuyuki Asano and Emi Wakui also return, joined by new regulars Norito Yashima and Masahiro Takashima.

The first season’s final episode achieved an individual audience rating of 8.3% and a household rating of 13.8%; its special episode reached 8.8% and 15.6% respectively, according to Video Research’s Kanto-region figures. This box pairs the second season with Uradiation House, a Masataka Kubota and Tsubasa Honda interview session, footage from the start and completion of filming, previously unseen material and trailers.
