Replicare follows a knight and a believer, and a hero and a girl, through Monokubo's interconnected fantasy illustrations. Their journeys gradually uncover the mysteries of a devastated world, moving through ruined cities, wide deserts and snowfields, the resting places of decayed gods and forests from which no escape is apparent.
The book draws chiefly on early instalments of the artist's ongoing illustrated narrative, first shared online from the beginning of Monokubo's career. Existing images have been revised and supplemented with newly drawn work for this collection. Published by Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions, the Japanese-language volume contains 160 pages.
