Ron Kamonohashi's Forbidden Deductions brings Akira Amano's mystery manga to the stage with live musical accompaniment. Ron was once regarded as a genius at the prestigious detective academy BLUE, but an incident cost him the right to obtain a detective's licence. His unlikely partnership with earnest, often hapless police detective Totomaru Isshiki gives his extraordinary deductive talent a new outlet.

Yuta Kishimoto plays Ron alongside Yutaka Nozaki as Totomaru, better known as Toto. Ryoma Baba appears as Spitz Fire and Haruna Ishii as Amamiya, with Mizuho Habu and Hideya Sasaki portraying Winter and Mylo Moriarty. Hiroki Suzuki takes the role of Omito Kawasemi. Keita Kawajiri writes and directs the adaptation, whose live piano, accordion and violin accompaniment forms part of its theatrical presentation.

The two-disc release includes the 167-minute main performance, a fixed-camera recording showing the full stage, and making-of material from rehearsals and backstage. The region-free Blu-rays present the Japanese programme in Linear PCM stereo, without subtitles.
