Run for Money: The Movie Special Edition Blu-ray

Run for Money: The Movie Special Edition Blu-ray expands the Japanese survival thriller with cast commentary, a dedicated supplementary disc and a 42-page memorial photobook. Directed by Masaki Nishiura, the film transforms the familiar television game into a dangerous contest featuring 1,000 participants, with JO1 and FANTASTICS members leading the ensemble.

Former athletics teammates Yamato, Eijiro, Ken, Riku, Yugo and Joji once shared matching friendship bracelets and a close competitive bond. After graduation, they drifted apart. An invitation to Mission in Tokyo draws them back together, each with different hopes for the prize money. Their reunion becomes a nightmare when Chronos, the company controlling the game, is hijacked. Contestants disappear after capture, a mysterious game master called K takes charge, and Wild Hunters turn the competition into a battle for survival. A ten-billion-yen reward cannot disguise the question facing the six friends: whether their damaged bond can survive when their lives are at stake.

Takumi Kawanishi, Sota Nakajima, Shoya Kimata, Sukai Kinjo, Leiya Seguchi and Taiki Sato join the audio commentary to discuss filming. The second Blu-ray contains 251 minutes of supplementary footage, including MAKING MISSION with previously unseen material, collaboration music videos for Believe in You and Break Line, recorded cast appearances, a film-release television special and a re-edited twentieth-anniversary programme. A NO MORE Movie Thieves collaboration, making-of and character promotional videos, trailers and television commercials complete the video supplements. The photobook collects cast photographs from filming and promotional appearances.
