Samurai Champloo Anime

From Shinichiro Watanabe, director of Cowboy Bebop and The Animatrix, Samurai Champloo samples and mixes period drama with hip-hop, Okinawan and mainland Japanese cultures, samurai and modern sensibilities. The result is a fresh samurai action series with the feel of a road movie. Celebrating the twentieth anniversary of its broadcast, this is a reproduction of the Blu-ray BOX first released on July 20,2011.

During a deadly brawl, Fuu meets two extraordinary swordsmen. Mugen is an unruly wanderer from Ryukyu who lives by instinct rather than intellect. Jin, a disciplined former student of the Mujuushin school, is calm and controlled. Though they are opposites, Fuu recruits them to find a samurai who smells of sunflowers. Their journey brings government intrigue, assassins, bad mushrooms and much more.

All 26 episodes are collected on three Blu-rays: episodes 1–9 on disc 1, episodes 10–18 on disc 2 and episodes 19–26 on disc 3. The third disc also includes six minutes of bonus video footage. The cast includes Kazuya Nakai and Ginpei Sato, with music associated with FORCE OF NATURE, Nujabes, Tsutchie and Fat Jon.

The edition's listed running time is 607 minutes. Japanese Linear PCM stereo and English Dolby TrueHD 5.1-channel surround audio are accompanied by Japanese and English subtitles on region-free Blu-rays.
