Samurai Reincarnation 4K Remastered Blu-ray

After the forces of the shogunate massacre the rebels at Shimabara, their leader Amakusa Shiro Tokisada takes his own life. He returns from the realm of the dead consumed by anger, determined to burn the country and bring down the government. To aid him, he summons others whose lives ended in bitterness, including Hosokawa Gracia, who died after betrayal by her husband.

Figures from different moments in history return to pursue the desires they could not fulfil in life. Miyamoto Musashi, Hozoin Inshun, Kirimaru of Iga and Yagyu Tajima-no-kami Munenori become part of a supernatural conflict that combines Western black magic with Japanese ninja lore. Kenji Sawada plays Tokisada and Akiko Kana plays Gracia, with Shinichi Chiba, Ken Ogata, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ai Kanzaki, Hideo Murota, Tetsuro Tamba and Tomisaburo Wakayama.

Produced by Haruki Kadokawa and directed by Kinji Fukasaku from Futaro Yamada's novel, this 1981 film pairs swordplay with an eerie fantasy of resurrection and revenge. The Blu-ray presents the 122-minute feature from a 4K remaster in 1080p, with Japanese Linear PCM mono audio and no subtitles. The disc also includes a teaser and theatrical trailer.
