School Trip: Joined a Group I'm Not Close To Blu-ray Box

Two months into his second year of high school, Asahi Hioki still has no friends in his class. Then the day arrives to choose groups for the school trip. To his astonishment, the school's four most admired boys invite him to join them. Watarai stands out with his easy charm; Morizaki is cool and difficult to approach; friendly Nakasato keeps the group cheerful; and straightforward, outgoing Hotta is popular with everyone. Ordinary, unassuming Asahi feels out of place, but their invitation leaves little room to retreat.

Anxiety keeps Asahi awake before departure. When he loses a contact lens during the trip, Watarai takes his hand without hesitation and guides him along. The attention is disconcertingly close, and the seemingly gentle school star soon reveals a jealous streak as he pursues a boy with little experience of romance. What begins as an awkward group assignment becomes a tender relationship across the school's social divide.

Kodai Fujimoto and Hideyoshi Kan lead this adaptation of Uzura Kakuregi's novel, joined by Masaya Sakuragi, Ayuta Fukuda and Kairi Shimizu. DXTEEN's theme song Ryo Kataomoi follows two people drawing closer through mutual feelings, while Genin wa Jibun ni Aru.'s opening song Tremolo reflects their repeated moments of connection.

The four-disc box contains all ten episodes on three feature discs and a separate bonus disc. Its 230-minute main program is accompanied by 174 minutes of extras, including the making-of record of the school trip, screening-event footage and a final-episode video commentary with Fujimoto and Kan. A visual-book-style booklet completes the set.
