Scum of the Brave Anime

A disreputable master and his self-proclaimed disciple enter a massive tale of modern supernatural action. Scum of the Brave, the independent hit nominated for the Next Manga Awards for two consecutive years, became a television anime in January 2026. Rocket Shokai began publishing the original novel on Kakuyomu on February 13, 2016, and it won the Contemporary Action category of the first Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest. Nakashima 723's independently produced and distributed manga adaptation sold more than five thousand copies of its first volume and earned those two consecutive award nominations.

In the middle of the twenty-first century, Tokyo's underworld is ruled by mafia bosses transformed into Demon Lords through surgery that enhances ether, or magical energy. The bounty hunters who bring them down are known as Heroes. Using the drug E 3 to strengthen their ether abilities, they fight the Demon Lords with legally sanctioned violence. Being a Hero has become a profession built around killing. In this world, freelance Hero Yashiro, known as the Reaper, is confronted by a self-proclaimed disciple: Jogamine, a high-school student training to become a Hero. He reluctantly accepts her, only to find himself caught in one dreadful incident after another. Their unlikely partnership opens the curtain on this explosive modern action story.

Volume 2 contains episodes 7-12, together with the first-cour promotional-video and television-commercial collection and audio commentaries for two episodes. The originally announced first-press package includes a digipak newly illustrated by original character designer Nakashima 723 and a special booklet. These are limited-production physical extras and are not guaranteed with current stock.
