Seiko Matsuda continues the jazz series begun in 2017 with SEIKO JAZZ 3. Introduced through Quincy Jones, bassist Nathan East takes the producer's chair, working with leading musicians in Los Angeles and Tokyo to reshape songs Matsuda loves through jazz arrangements.
For the first time in the series, Matsuda revisits one of her own signature songs: Akai Sweet Pea receives an English-language jazz treatment featuring Kenny G. Covers range from I'm Not In Love and Rock With You to Chasing Cars and Paradise, with both solo and duet versions of How Deep Is Your Love.
The twelve-track standard CD combines rich, delicate playing with a voice informed by more than four decades as an artist. It develops the series' mature sound while keeping the pleasure of familiar songs at its center.
