Senbon no Hanataba - Senbon Umishima Artworks gathers more than 180 commercial and original works in the artist's first collection. Dynamic character illustrations, atmospheric landscapes and manga about small moments of everyday happiness reveal the range of an artist whose background includes animation character design and chief animation direction.
The selection includes the Black Bullet Blu-ray box illustration, the key visual for the second part of Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet: Far Beyond the Voyage, character designs for She and Her Cat: Everything Flows, and colour illustrations for Boku no Sophia. A newly drawn manga, Hanazono no Romeo, adds an original story to the collection.
Umishima subsequently focused on illustration and manga, and this volume brings those fields together with the artist's animation-related work. Published by PIE International, the Japanese-language softcover contains 192 pages, including 160 in colour, in a modified B5 format.
