Can that power of yours protect what matters most? A new journey begins in The Chaos of a Thousand Demons. Satoshi Mizukami’s manga began in Mag Garden’s Monthly Comic Blade in 2008 and reached television in January 2024. The first part followed Tama, a spirit fox who loves humans, and Jinka, a human-hating spiritual ascetic, as the sworn siblings fought katawara through spirit transformation. Its spectacular battles and memorable characters lead into this second part, which began its two-cour television run on July 17, 2024.

Jinka has vanished after becoming a thousand-tailed spirit fox. The story now follows Senya, a boy whose spiritually modified body houses a thousand katawara, and Tsukiko, a human girl determined to grow strong enough to protect him. Shinsuke watches over their journey, while Tama searches for the runaway Jinka. Mudo, a black-dragon boy who stands at the pinnacle of the katawara, attacks in pursuit of Senya’s power. As Senya confronts that power and strives to master himself, formidable enemies appear one after another. What awaits him at the end of his journey? With the leading role passing from Jinka to Senya, a new adventure unfolds.

This first collection includes a special booklet featuring eight pages of newly drawn bonus manga storyboards by Satoshi Mizukami, The One Who Sits with the Katawara: Part 1. Its jacket depicts Senya, Tsukiko and Nau in newly drawn artwork supervised by Yosuke Okuda, and the discs feature picture labels.
