Shikkokuten The Final Story Blu-ray
映画 漆黒天‐終の語り‐
The strongest man has lost his memory. There is something about this man. This is the third project in Movie x Stage, an ambitious fusion of cinema and theatre. The mystery period drama unfolds as a fantastical historical noir around a man who cannot remember who he is, why his life is being targeted or what his strength is for.
Hirofumi Araki plays the amnesiac protagonist Nanashi. Known for numerous roles including Nikkari Aoe in the Touken Ranbu musicals, he also undertook his first solo directing assignment for The Idolmaster SideM Dramatic Live Stage, performed in June. Arisa Komiya plays Kita, the town girl who searches for Nanashi's memories. Alongside her acting work, she is known as a voice performer, including Dia Kurosawa in Love Live! Sunshine!!.
Ryo Matsuda, whose work spans theatre adaptations, original musicals and solo plays, portrays Jirota, the older of the Ouma brothers, a pair of troublemakers in Edo. His younger brother Saburota is played by 7ORDER member Reo Nagatsuma. The accomplished cast also includes Shohei Hashimoto, Hiroya Matsumoto, Fujiko Kojima, Mizuki Umetsu, Yuta Ozawa, Hiroki Suzuki, Mitsuru Karahashi and Takeshi Ukaji.
Kenichi Suemitsu, known for the Touken Ranbu stage series and the TRUMP series, writes the screenplay. Koichi Sakamoto, a leading director of tokusatsu hero productions including Kamen Rider, Super Sentai and Ultraman, directs the film. Look forward to the new Movie x Stage world created by this team.
Have you seen me in this town? A man in rags, played by Hirofumi Araki, appears in Edo. Circumstances lead him to rescue the petty thief Kita, played by Arisa Komiya. In gratitude for saving her, Kita gives the amnesiac man the name Nanashi, meaning nameless. She begins seeking clues to his identity, drawing in the kyogen playwright Genba, played by Mitsuru Karahashi, and the Ouma brothers, played by Ryo Matsuda and Reo Nagatsuma.
All Nanashi currently knows is that mysterious swordsmen seem to be targeting his life, and that each time he apparently defeats them with overwhelming swordsmanship. He cannot even remember why he is so powerful. But when he hears the name of the Hikage Party, a group said to have committed every kind of wrongdoing in the town, he recalls the sole memory that remains: the dying moments of someone he loved.
At the same time, subordinate officers Shido Kurama, played by Hiroki Suzuki, and Jingo Saratsuki, played by Yuta Ozawa, prepare to set a plan in motion. The memory of a loved one's death, extraordinary skill with a sword and mysterious assassins seeking his life: there is clearly something about this man.
This Blu-ray contains the eighty-two-minute film, with teaser and trailer/promotional footage.
