Shinigami Tsukai no Jikencho: Final Movie and Stage Set Blu-ray

During the rule of Shogun Iemitsu, detective and shinigami master Genshiro receives a Tokugawa commission to catch the Silver Fox, a thief who has entered Edo Castle's treasure house. At the same time, his partner Juran is nearing the deadline for his return to the underworld. The seal on the fearsome shinigami Mugenro, once secured by their fathers, breaks. What should have been another investigation becomes Genshiro and Juran's final attempt to contain a threat that binds their families together.

Six months after Juran's departure, Genshiro continues his detective work in Edo with a lingering sense of emptiness. A woman named Shigure asks him to help her brother, leading him to his childhood friend Tessai and a shinigami who looks like the supposedly sealed Mugenro. This courteous stranger is not what Genshiro expects. While seeking work for Tessai from Hoshina Masayuki, Genshiro accepts a commission that will grow into a crisis for the shogunate. In the underworld, a rebellion has imprisoned Juran and his nurse. His attendant Danjo escapes to seek Genshiro's aid, yet the former partners, each carrying unresolved feelings, refuse to meet again. Their trust in one another becomes central to the conclusion of the story.

Hiroki Suzuki and Kentaro Yasui lead the film alongside Rina Ikoma, Mizuki Umetsu, Tsubasa Sakiyama, Sho Jinnai and Ryota Kobayashi. The supporting cast includes Daisuke Morisaki, Rui Tabuchi, Tsukasa Matsuura, Hiroya Matsumoto, Keito Sakurai, Yohei Matsukado, Kotaro Tanabe, Manabu Hamada, Rantaro Mine, Yu Kamio and Ken Nishida. Takayuki Shibasaki directs from a screenplay by Tadashi Suto, with music by Kenichi Yoda.

Hiroki Suzuki and Kentaro Yasui return for the stage production with Mizuki Umetsu, Daisuke Morisaki, Rui Tabuchi, Ryo Taguchi, Hiroya Matsumoto, Kotaro Tanabe, Yoko Zan, Kanon Miyahara and Hiroki Suzuki. Nobuhiro Mori writes and directs from Tadashi Suto's original concept. Kenichi Yoda supplies the music, Masaaki Kurita directs the action and Shinnosuke Motoyama provides choreography.

This two-Blu-ray set brings together the film released in June 2025 and the stage production performed in August and September 2025. The combined main-program runtime is 210 minutes: 85 minutes for the film and 125 minutes for the stage production. The film disc includes teaser and theatrical trailers. Japanese Linear PCM 5.1 audio accompanies the film, with Japanese Linear PCM stereo for the stage performance. No subtitles are included.
