Shinji Wada ARTWORKS surveys the artist's career through original colour artwork, marking ten years since his passing. Sukeban Deka, Choshojo Asuka and Pygmalio lead a selection extending from fighting heroines and historical fantasy to early suspense and comedy. The book also includes Lady Midnight and imagery inspired by Alice in Wonderland.
Memorable manga scenes are reproduced to retain the character of the original ink and pasted lettering. Previously unpublished pencil roughs, including Sukeban Deka material, and planning notes for Pygmalio reveal stages behind the finished pages. Kyabetsu Batake de Tsumazuite is presented in full from original artwork, connecting with Wada's interest in special-effects productions and character figures.
Interviews feature Suzue Miuchi, Masahiro Shibata, Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, Izumi Takemoto and Kaoru Shintani. Views of Wada's workspace and personal collections add a further perspective on the artist. Published by Genkosha, this Japanese-language volume contains 272 full-colour pages.
