Help one another and aim to become perfectly ordinary. After a bitter experience with the deductive activities he called intellectual work, Kobato decides to become a pure, modest ordinary citizen. He secretly forms a mutually beneficial relationship with his classmate Osanai, who shares that goal, and plans to begin high school quietly. Yet inexplicable incidents and misfortunes keep entering their school lives. Can Kobato and Osanai ever obtain the peaceful, ordinary days they seek?

Based on the popular mystery series by Naoki Prize winner Honobu Yonezawa, author of the Classic Literature Club series including Hyouka, Shoshimin brings the school mysteries to television animation. Volume 2 contains episodes 4–6, with Shuichiro Umeda, Hina Yomiya and Makoto Furukawa among the cast. Mamoru Kanbe directs, with series composition by Toshiya Ono and character designs by Atsushi Saito.

The digipack features newly drawn artwork by character designer Atsushi Saito and is housed in a clear sleeve. A special booklet contains setting materials. Disc extras include cast audio commentary, promotional videos and commercials, and the creditless opening and ending.

The 72-minute program is presented on one region-free Blu-ray, with Japanese Linear PCM 2-channel stereo audio and no subtitles.
