Slow Train Blu-ray

Slow Train follows three siblings as the home they have built together reaches a turning point. Yoko, Miyako and Ushio live in Kamakura after losing their parents and grandmother in the same traffic accident. On their way back from the family's twenty-third memorial service, Miyako suddenly announces that she is going to Korea. Her decision forces all three to consider what happiness might look like beyond the life they have shared.

Takako Matsu plays Yoko, with Mikako Tabe as Miyako and Tori Matsuzaka as Ushio. Gen Hoshino and Joo Jong-hyuk also star in this original television drama written by Akiko Nogi and directed by Nobuhiro Doi. As the story moves from Kamakura to Busan, its attention shifts between the siblings' different paths and the bonds that continue to connect them. Humour and uncertainty sit alongside the question of how a family can change without losing what makes it a family.

This two-disc Blu-ray edition contains the 111-minute drama and 63 minutes of supplementary footage, including the recorded production press conference, a programme guide special, cast wrap-up footage and television spots. A 28-page booklet accompanies the release. The main programme is presented with Japanese Linear PCM stereo audio and Japanese accessibility subtitles; the subtitle provision applies to the drama itself, not the supplementary footage. The Blu-ray discs are region free.
