Soiree gathers more than 160 works from Nekosuke's richly imagined worlds, where young people and animals inhabit settings touched by beauty and decay. The illustrator's first commercial art collection draws on the self-published books Exotica, Exotica 2, Kaiki to Jo and Yume ni Utsutsu ni, bringing their distinctive atmosphere together with work made for a wider range of projects.
Illustrations created for novel covers and merchandise appear alongside Mushi no Haneoto, an original picture-book story newly created for this collection. The mix of earlier pieces, commissioned illustrations and new storytelling shows different sides of Nekosuke's art without losing the dreamlike quality that connects them.
Originally from Tottori Prefecture, Nekosuke works across book illustration, games and CD cover art. This 160-page collection from PIE International is printed in full colour.
