SSSS.DYNAZENON Animation

With its roots in the 1993 live-action series Gridman the Hyper Agent, SSSS.DYNAZENON follows SSSS.GRIDMAN into a world where everyday life meets the extraordinary. Its fresh portrayal of young people living in the present and its dynamic hero and robot action won wide support. This theatrical compilation reshapes the series for the big screen, bringing its powerful combining-robot battles and carefully woven human drama into sharper focus. Carrying love and pain alike, Dynazenon races across the screen.

On his way home from school in Fujiyokidai, Yomogi Asanaka meets an eccentric man named Gauma. Calling himself a kaiju user, Gauma begins following Yomogi after the student saves him from collapse. When the monster Shalbandes appears, the dragon ornament Gauma carries transforms into the giant robot Dynazenon. Amid the confusion, Yomogi, his classmate Yume Minami and bystander Koyomi Yamanaka are drawn into its body.

Gauma leads the new anti-kaiju team, joined by Yomogi, Yume, Koyomi and Koyomi’s cousin Chise Asukagawa. Opposing them are Juuga, Onija, Mujina and Sizumu, the Kaiju Eugenicists. What awaits both groups as companions are drawn into battle against one another?

This standard edition comes in a digipak with an illustrated slipcase. Its special booklet contains a director discussion, story and setting material, and storyboards for the new sequences. Additional content includes the voice drama Mainichi ga Taikutsu de, originally offered to cinema audiences, the theatrical trailer and a production commentary.
