Stepmother and Daughter Blues FINAL 2024 New Year Special Blu-ray

Haruka Ayase stars as the thirteen-year story of love woven from small miracles and great affection finally concludes. One day Akiko Miyamoto realizes that her daughter Miyuki, attending university while working part-time at Bakery Mugita, has not begun job hunting despite approaching graduation. Miyuki suggests that continuing the bakery job is enough, showing no remorse for her late start. Akiko launches an intensive short course and works alongside her in the search.

Seeing Akiko strive to make the daughter entrusted to her by late husband Ryoichi independent, Miyuki begins considering her future seriously. Just as they start job hunting together, she makes a startling declaration: I want to get married. Her announcement throws the Miyamoto household into turmoil. The unconventional bakery manager Mugita is drawn in, and perhaps even Ryoichi in heaven.

The single Blu-ray includes the 112-minute main program and 106minutes of extras: Love and Miracles making-of footage, Stepmother and Daughter Memorial; the production-announcement press conference; special interviews with Ayase, Satoh, Kamishiraishi and Inowaki; and promotional material. Japanese Linear PCM 2-channel stereo audio is supplied, with Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired on the main program.
