Strike the Blood Animation

The final chapter of Strike the Blood reunites Yukina, Asagi, Sayaka, La Folia, Shizuri and the series’ other heroines for Kojo’s last battle. Based on Gakuto Mikumo’s Dengeki Bunko light novels, illustrated by Manyako, the series had reached 3.2 million copies when the main novels concluded in August 2020. Following the television anime that began in 2013 and the continuing OVA series, whose combined Blu-ray and DVD sales exceeded 330,000, this fifth OVA season adapts the twenty-second novel, Akatsuki no Gaisen. The returning television staff and cast bring the main story to its conclusion.

After crossing into the Otherworld, MAR leader Shahryar Ren acquires an ancient superweapon left by Cain—the Beast Vassal Warheads—and plots to place the world under the Devas’ rule once more. Faced with this overwhelming force, the Lion King Organization and the Attack Mage Bureau secretly decide to destroy Itogami Island, the gate linking the Otherworld and the present world.

Yukina struggles with the merciless assignment imposed by her superiors, still declaring that she is Kojo’s observer and will remain so. Determined to protect what matters to him, Kojo enters his final fight alongside his companions as the island’s ruler. He leaves Yukina to choose her own course: help destroy the island, or lend her strength to saving it. The release also includes an audio commentary for one episode and promotional videos, including the volume’s Blu-ray and DVD commercial.

First-press copies may include newly drawn anime jacket artwork, a digipak in a clear case and a booklet combining explanatory notes, a new short story by the original author and a comic. These limited features are available only while first-press supplies remain and are not guaranteed.
