STU48's first album, Natsukashii Ashita, traces its singles from Kurayami through Kimi wa Nani o Kokai Suru no ka? and adds Ai no Omosa. Type A also includes Sweaty Smell, the theme song for the film Curling no Kamisama, and a choral version of Hana wa Dare no Mono? featuring Hitomi Shimatani.
The thirteen-song CD is accompanied by a Blu-ray of music videos, a Dance QR video for Iki o Suru Kokoro and STU Enchi footage. The program includes the take-9 version of Kaze o Matsu. Third-generation member Yuika Kabeshima does not appear in the STU Enchi segment.
