Ghibli wo Utau Sono 2 brings Satoshi Takebe's second Studio Ghibli tribute album to vinyl. Studio Ghibli's animated films continue to reach audiences across countries and generations, and the songs that accompany their stories have become inseparable from those memories.
Under Takebe's production, artists from different generations offer new interpretations of music from those films. The programme moves from The Cat Returns and Kiki's Delivery Service to The Boy and the Heron, The Wind Rises and other Ghibli favourites, with both vocal covers and instrumental performances.
The heavyweight two-LP edition features newly drawn jacket artwork by director Goro Miyazaki. Four sides present the fourteen-track selection, ending with Takebe's instrumental Inochi no Kioku as an epilogue.
