Playful characters, relaxed poses and carefully chosen colour combinations give DaisukeRichard's Suiso its particular atmosphere. The gallery brings together newly drawn pieces, recent work and illustrations not previously collected, while the accompanying material examines how those images are made.
Five process features cover both commercial assignments and personal work. The commissioned projects include Sangatsu no Phantasia's Pink Lemonade and Girls Blue Happy Sad, giving the book specific examples of how the illustrator approaches music-related imagery as well as independent pieces.
A question-and-answer section, studio visit, interview and detailed artwork commentary take the discussion beyond the finished pictures. Together, they present the methods and viewpoint of the Shiga-born illustrator and designer, whose professional activities began in 2016.
