Sukeban Deka III HD Remastered Blu-ray Box 1

Forty years after their legendary battles, the heroines of Sukeban Deka return in vivid color. Broadcast on Fuji Television between 1985 and 1987, the series became a social phenomenon and produced three celebrated dramas. Shinji Wada's original manga appeared in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume from 1976 to 1982. Its student detective wielded a special-alloy yo-yo bearing a cherry-blossom emblem, confronting evil in schools and shadowy organizations seeking to control Japan. The highly entertaining stories and distinctive worlds created by their idol stars sparked a major boom. These defining television adventures of the 1980s now come to Blu-ray in HD-remastered editions.

The third series, Sukeban Deka III: Shojo Ninpocho Denki, aired forty-two episodes on Fuji Television from October 1986 to October 1987. The three Kazama sisters are descendants of the Fuma ninja. Youngest sister Yui joins eldest sister Yuka and middle sister Yuma in a fateful struggle against powerful evil enemies. Yui Asaka, who made her singing debut in June 1985, was selected to play Yui, the third heroine to inherit the name Saki Asamiya. Together with Yuka Onishi and Yuma Nakamura, the role helped launch the sisters' popularity. The complete forty-two-episode record of their battles is divided between two boxes, released in June and September 2026.

This first box contains episodes 1-21 and the television special : episodes 1-8 on disc 1, episodes 9-16 on disc 2, and episodes 17-21 plus the special on disc 3.

The program has been remastered in HD from negative scans. Disc 1 includes the original new-series preview; disc 3 includes original broadcast-version previews for episodes 10-20 and the television-special previews. The jacket features a new illustration by Yoshito Sugahara. The originally offered sixteen-page first-press booklet contains a new Yui Asaka interview, but its availability is limited and it is not guaranteed.

Some music differs from the original broadcasts.
