After celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut in 2013, Sukima Switch moved into a new stage of their career. Their first single of 2014, Ah Yeah!!, the opening theme for the television anime Haikyu!!, introduced an energetic, fast-moving rock sound with a fresh texture that pointed to new possibilities for the duo.
The November single Parabolover, heard in Yokohama Tire's Ice Guard Five commercials, showed another side of their appeal: a bright, direct love song delivered in quintessential Sukima Switch style, winning over both longtime and new fans.
Following musium, their eagerly awaited sixth original album is also their first self-titled release. It ranges from pop tunes overflowing with their signature style and dynamic rock songs to poignant ballads whose melodies and lyrics bring tears, and funky numbers with a mature atmosphere.
Each song has a character of its own, revealing new possibilities for the duo. The album brings together their much-discussed songs and major theme-song projects, including Natsu no Cosmonaut, the Inter-High support song, life x life x life for Hawkins walking shoes, and Hoshi no Utsuwa from The Last: Naruto the Movie.
