Ten years since the anime began broadcasting: this Sword Art Online 10th Anniversary Box brings together Sword Art Online, Sword Art Online II, Sword Art Online Extra Edition and Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale. The complete limited-production edition includes eight CDs in a specially made box, with the 10th Anniversary Storyboard Book of approximately 500 pages and the 10th Anniversary Illustration Book of approximately 100 pages.

Sword Art Online is the Dengeki Bunko novel series by Reki Kawahara, winner of the Grand Prize at the 15th Dengeki Novel Prize. Following protagonist Kirito's exploits in the next-generation VRMMORPG Sword Art Online, it has enjoyed great popularity since the first novel appeared in April 2009. By 2022, worldwide circulation had exceeded twenty-six million copies. The first television anime season aired in 2012; by the original release announcement, four series totalling 97 episodes had followed, excluding recap episodes and Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online. The film Ordinal Scale opened in 2017. The series has also expanded through games, manga adaptations and a wide range of other media.

Aincrad: In 2022, humanity finally realises a complete virtual space. Kirito is one of the players of the virtual massively multiplayer online role-playing game Sword Art Online. Enjoying the SAO world, he and ten thousand other logged-in players receive a terrifying announcement from the game master. Clearing the game is the only way to escape this world. A game over here means death in the real world. This is the horrifying truth of the game. Kirito quickly accepts that truth and, as a solo player who does not join a party, throws himself into an apparently endless fight to the death.

Fairy Dance: Kirito, whose real name is Kazuto Kirigaya, escapes the world in which Sword Art Online trapped him after a desperate battle against Heathcliff, Akihiko Kayaba. Other survivors of the death game also return, but three hundred players, including Asuna, fail to regain consciousness and remain asleep. To save Asuna, the person he loves, Kirito challenges a new VRMMORPG, ALfheim Online. It is an entirely new world in which fairies fly.

Phantom Bullet: One day, a year after the SAO incident, Kirito receives an unusual request from Seijiro Kikuoka of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' virtual division. He is asked to investigate the Death Gun incident, a mysterious phenomenon that suddenly occurs in the guns-and-steel VRMMO Gun Gale Online, or GGO. Players shot by a mysterious avatar carrying a jet-black gun also die in the real world. Unable to turn down the investigation, Kirito logs into GGO, though he doubts that a virtual world could physically affect the real one. Wandering through the unfamiliar game in search of clues to Death Gun, he receives help from Sinon, a girl who specialises in sniping with the enormous Hecate II rifle. With her assistance, Kirito enters the Bullet of Bullets tournament, the pinnacle of competition among gunners, to become a target himself and make contact with Death Gun.

Calibur: The quest to obtain ALO's legendary holy sword Excalibur finally begins. Kirito once held the legendary weapon using administrator privileges during his confrontation with Fairy King Oberon. To obtain it properly, he forms a seven-person party with his usual companions and Sinon, who has newly created an ALO character. But a vast hidden event awaits in the quest, capable of shaking the ALO world itself.

Mother's Rosario: One day, Asuna hears a strange rumour from Lisbeth. A mysterious avatar appearing north of the main town on floor 24 of the new Floating Castle Aincrad map is defeating every opponent in one-to-one duels, wagering an Original Sword Skill. Asuna challenges this avatar, called Absolute Sword, who has defeated even Kirito, but narrowly loses. Immediately after the duel, Absolute Sword invites Asuna to join their guild. A secret lies behind the skill sharp enough to earn the name Absolute Sword.

Extra Edition: Memories recounted by a hero. After their decisive battle, the swordsmen head towards a new quest. To fulfil Yui's wish to see a whale, Kirito and his friends tackle an underwater quest in ALO. But a surprising fact emerges: Leafa—Suguha—is unexpectedly uncomfortable in water. Asuna and the other women decide to give Suguha intensive swimming practice in a real-world pool. Meanwhile, Kirito meets a certain person.

Ordinal Scale: In 2022, genius programmer Akihiko Kayaba developed NerveGear, the world's first device exclusively for full-dive use. This revolutionary machine brought limitless possibilities to virtual reality. Four years later, a next-generation wearable multi-device appears, competing with AmuSphere, NerveGear's VR successor. Augma is a cutting-edge machine that removes full-dive functionality while maximising augmented reality. Because it can be used while awake, its safety and convenience quickly spread it among users. Driving its explosive popularity is an ARMMORPG exclusive to Augma called Ordinal Scale, or OS. Asuna and the others play the game, and Kirito prepares to join them, but…
