Tatsunoko Production Design Archive - 1970s Science Fiction Box Set assembles more than 500 artworks across three volumes devoted to Gatchaman, Casshan, Hurricane Polimar and Tekkaman. It gathers nearly all the principal design sheets for these productions still held by the studio, alongside colour reference art and illustrations made for posters and product packaging.
The Gatchaman volume covers characters, machinery and backgrounds. Casshan explores its hero and robot companion, allies and enemy forces, as well as vehicles, props and environments. The third volume brings together the main design material for Hurricane Polimar and Tekkaman.
Interviews with Masami Suda, Chuichi Iguchi and Tomonori Kogawa accompany the respective volumes, which also include complete episode lists. Two opening posters are included. Supervised by Tatsunoko Production and published by Genkosha, the Japanese-language set contains 368 pages in total.
